How do I connect an AI provider?

There are two ways. Sign in with your own ChatGPT or Claude account: no API key is needed, and usage counts against that subscription. Or connect an OpenRouter, Cerebras, or Novita API key, test it, choose a model, and pay that provider directly. Exactly one connected provider is your default at a time, and campaigns use it. You can change the default without editing a campaign.

What does Tantra charge for AI?

Nothing. Tantra supplies no model. Each personalized email is normally one call to your default provider, which writes the subject and body together and bills your subscription or key. We add no markup and sell no credits.

How does the model learn about a prospect?

From the prospect’s company website. ChatGPT and Claude read the site themselves with their own web tool. For OpenRouter, Cerebras, and Novita, Tantra’s crawler fetches the page text and passes it to the model.

When is the stored template sent instead?

When the contact has a webmail address (such as gmail.com, yahoo.com, outlook.com, icloud.com, or proton.me) and no company website on record; when the site is blocked, offline, or unreadable; when the provider returns an error such as an invalid key, an expired sign-in, or a usage limit; or when the website data is not ready within 5 minutes. The step still sends.

Can I control what the model writes?

Yes. Add guidance to each email step, and set account-level system prompts of up to 8,000 characters. Test personalize in the sequence builder shows the generated subject and body before you launch.

Are social messages AI-personalized?

No. LinkedIn and WhatsApp messages use templates, merge tags, and spintax.
