AI personalizationAvailableBring your own key

Use your OpenRouter models for Tantra personalization.

Connect your own OpenRouter API key, test access, choose an available model, and make it Tantra's default personalization provider.

Requires an API key from OpenRouter.

What you get

Encrypted key storage

Your OpenRouter API key is encrypted at rest, shown only as a masked fingerprint afterward.

Connection test

Test your key's connection before relying on it for a campaign.

Model browser

Browse the provider's available models with search and pagination, including pricing and rate-limit metadata when the catalog returns it.

Supported actions and data

Tantra can do

  • Send scrape content and recipient context to the model for personalization
  • Generate a personalized subject and body for email, or a description for a calendar invite

Tantra receives

  • The model's generated output, logged for cost and prompt tracking
  • Available models, pricing, and rate-limit metadata the provider's catalog returns

Requirements and permissions

  • An API key from OpenRouter

  • A Tantra account to store and test the key

Good to know

  • You pay the provider directly; Tantra does not mark up usage.
  • Exactly one LLM provider is your default at a time.
  • Removing the default, or having no valid default, falls campaign personalization back to the plain template.
  • The template editor's Generate and Enhance buttons use Tantra's built-in AI, not this key.

Frequently asked questions

Who pays for OpenRouter usage?

You do. Tantra passes personalization requests through, but the OpenRouter bill goes to your own account.

Can I have more than one active default provider?

No. Exactly one LLM provider is the default at a time.

What happens if I remove my default provider?

Campaign personalization falls back to the plain template until a new default is set.
