Connect and manage Telegram
Link Telegram by QR code, understand who can receive messages, adjust limits, reconnect, or remove the account.

Overview
Connect your own Telegram account to reply to and follow up with contacts who already have a Telegram conversation with you.
Telegram cannot start a new conversation with an arbitrary username or phone number. A contact must already have a Telegram identity on their Tantra contact record. Contacts without one skip Telegram steps.
You need an active Telegram add-on before you can connect or reconnect an account.
Connect Telegram
- Open Connectors.
- Select Telegram.
- Select Connect account. A QR code appears.
- Open Telegram on your phone.
- Go to Settings, then Devices.
- Select Link Desktop Device and scan the code shown in Tantra.
- Keep the window open while Tantra finishes connecting and imports your conversations.
The QR code refreshes automatically when it expires. Scan the newest code shown.

Account statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Connected | The account is ready to use |
| Syncing | Conversation history is importing; sending unlocks automatically when it finishes |
| Disconnected | Select Reconnect and scan a new QR code |
| Reconnecting | Tantra hit a temporary issue and is retrying |
| Paused | The Telegram add-on is inactive |
Set message limits
Open the Telegram connector page, select Limits on the account, and set daily and weekly message caps. The panel also shows how much activity the account has used today and this week.
Lower values make activity more cautious. Values cannot exceed the displayed maximum. Select Save limits when finished.
Reconnect or remove an account
- If the account is Disconnected, select Reconnect and scan the new code in Telegram.
- To disconnect it, select the remove icon and confirm Remove account.
Removing an account stops Telegram steps that depend on it until another connected Telegram account is selected.
Troubleshooting

| The QR code expired | Wait for a fresh code, then scan it from Devices in Telegram |
| The code was not scanned in time | Start over and scan the new code promptly |
| The account stays on Syncing | Allow time for conversation history to import |
| A contact skips the Telegram step | Confirm an existing Telegram conversation is linked to that contact record |
| Reconnect is unavailable | Reactivate the Telegram add-on first |
| A campaign cannot launch | Select a ready Telegram account in the campaign's Senders step |
FAQ
Can Telegram start a conversation with any username?
No. Tantra can message only contacts whose Telegram identity is already present on their contact record from an existing conversation.
What happens when a contact has no Telegram identity?
Tantra skips the Telegram step for that contact and continues the sequence.
